dining room reveal

As some of you know, I have been working on updating my dining room. I have shared a couple of projects with you already. It was so nice to just be done with my dining room. I can’t stand to have un finished projects in my house. Even though we never use our dining room unless we have people over, every time I walked through it I remembered projects I needed to do. Well, now I’m done! Finally!
First, I painted the walls (Behr Dolphin Fin) and then stenciled the design. I bought the stencil at Michael’s and picked a paint color that was one shade lighter and one higher sheen.
I made this shelf by using an existing shelf and antiquing it a little. I also added a piece of wood on the back of the shelf so that I could attach some knobs I got at Hobby Lobby.

I found these crates at an antique store and added some mason jar vases, a thrifted milk bottle and some finds from Target. I just glued some paper doilies together to make a little placemat. However, I have my eye on making something like this instead.
So there are still a few things I think I can add to the room. I have always thought it would be cool to have a dining room table with mis matched chairs, so I keep this website handy because they have so many chairs to choose from. I love the wood laminate chair. Or I have thought of adding a baker’s rack in the corner for some added storage. Something like this. We’ll see, but for now the room is considered done in my book 🙂 Now on to the kitchen!
