How to Cozy Up Your Fall Decor

IMG_9369.jpg

I love this time of year. The summer heat cools off and the leaves start changing. It’s so beautiful seeing the green leaves change to bright yellows and oranges. When decorating this time of year, I try to make my home feel more cozy. During these months we transition from spending most of our time outside, to spending more and more of our time inside so I like to make my home feel more inviting and cozy. I always find some of my home decor pieces at Gordmans. There you can find affordable things to fit just about any decor style. I love the farmhouse style, so I found some wooden signs and galvanized containers. Gordmans has a great selection of modern farmhouse pieces. When decorating for fall, here are some things I always keep in mind.

1. Use items from nature. Things outside change like our gardens and trees, so we should mirror that in our homes. You can buy pumpkins, logs, sticks, etc. to decorate with. Be creative, just walk around your yard to see what type of decoration you can bring inside.

2. Use woods and metals. Soft wood tones and metals help to accentuate your items from nature.

3. Use soft blankets and pillows. You can never have enough pillows and blankets 🙂 Just seeing a blanket makes me think of being wrapped inside of it, and therefore can make a room feel more cozy.

4. Decorate with fall colors. This could include flowers, bowls, art decor, etc. We see the changing leaves, so try to bring those colors inside.
