thrifting in kentucky + a little trip to nashville

Last week my husband took me on a surprise road trip, which included a stop at his parent’s house to drop off the kids. Then he and I were off to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky and then to Nashville. I had never been to Kentucky but my husband had been to the caves when he was a kid. The caves were beautiful and right outside of the national park was this amazing antique shop. So of course I had to take some time to peruse.

After a four hour long kayak trip down the Green River, we headed south to Nashville. I had never been to Nashville either but always wanted to go… just to see the place where so many famous musicians got their start. We saw a lot while we were were there including: The Parthenon, The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Grand Ole Opry, Music Row, Downtown, The Capital Building, Taylor Swift’s house and the biggest Forever 21 I have ever been in- equally as important as seeing the Grand Ole Opry 🙂

 {we stopped by a huge flea/farmer’s market downtown}
{eating at a Pie in the Sky- Nashville’s best pizza- so they say, it was really good}
{gigi’s cupcakes}
I loved being outdoors in a very beautiful part of our country and also loved being engulfed with country music culture in Nashville. It was so fun hearing and seeing people performing on the sidewalks, in the restaurants, on the buses, etc.
