CLASSIC BROWNIES

While visiting my sister, her mother-in-law made these delicious brownies… she and I have a lot in common, we share a love for good pizza, brownies and chocolate cake! 🙂 As soon as I got home, I had to make these brownies for my husband.

Classic Brownies
recipe source: (here)

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups cake flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped coarse
12 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 1/4 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

(I also made some caramel sauce to top with)

Directions:
1. Adjust an oven rack to the middle position and heat the oven to 325 degrees. Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with foil and grease the foil. Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together in a medium bowl.

2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in the microwave, stirring often, 1 to 3 minutes. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a large bowl and let it cool slightly. Gradually whisk in the sugar, followed by the eggs, one at a time, until combined. Whisk in the vanilla. Fold in the flour mixture, in 3 additions, with a rubber spatula until just incorporated.

3. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center omes out with just a few moist crumbs attached, 30 to 35 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through baking.

4. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan, set on a wire rack, about 2 hours.
