HOW TO TRANSITION YOUR HOME FROM HALLOWEEN TO CHRISTMAS

IMG_60701.jpg

IMG_6075Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but it’s not quite Christmas.. so today I want to share some ideas for how to transition your home from Halloween to Christmas. I love to decorate my home for the holidays and I’ve teamed up with Gordmans and some other fabulous bloggers to share my ideas. Make sure to check out The Chronicles of Home‘s for her fall decor ideas.  IMG_6060I think the easiest way to make your fall decor last to Christmas is using neutral colors and nature. I picked up this wood sign from Gordmans and love it! It’s perfect for the Thanksgiving season. Below, I used this glass jug and filled it with branches. For Halloween, you could hang little spiders on the branches, for Thanksgiving, hang little leaves and for Christmas hang snowflakes, or include some holly berries and pine branches with the sticks. IMG_6082IMG_6070I love birch branches and bought this bundle of birch branches and cut them in thirds to fit in the basket. Nature is so versatile and can be used throughout the fall and even through the winter.IMG_6058IMG_6050This fall bouquet is perfect for Halloween and Thanksgiving, but can easily be switched out for some pine branches and holly berries.
IMG_6054IMG_6072I love to decorate with metallics also during the holiday season. For this room, gold was the better choice over silver. I have a lot of Christmas tree decorations that are gold and white. So in order for me not to have to change out the pillows come December, I bought these gold and white pillows to last all the way through the fall.
IMG_6059IMG_6078To continue with the gold theme, I bought these gold stars. They work in the room now and will be perfect for Christmas too because as I mentioned, my other christmas decor has a lot of gold in it. And I’m a sucker for Yankee Candles. I’m so happy that Gordmans carries them because nothing is better than having your house smell like apples, or spices or pumpkins in the fall.
