I wanted to make this room comfortable but have some industrial pieces in it. It is a two story room so I needed to try and fill the space so that it didn’t look too empty-but I also wanted to keep it light and airy by using a lot of light colors. We also needed to fit our piano in there. I had to decide if I wanted the piano to be the focal point or the sofa and gallery wall-I chose the sofa and gallery wall.Painting the top of the room was a little tricky. We bought an extension roller that my husband used while standing on a ladder, but nothing seemed to work to get the very top edge next to the ceiling. Every brush extension thing we bought still got a lot of paint on the ceiling. So he decided to go out and rent an extension ladder. On his way out he noticed there were some painters working on a house across the street. He asked if he could rent their ladder since they weren’t using it. They said he could borrow it for free, so he quickly finished the top little bit with a brush. It worked out great!
