I feel like I’m so behind when it comes to decorating my home for the holidays. I am still working on finishing rooms in our new house-so when I get some time to work on projects that is what I spend my time on. However, I had the idea to make this little XO board and knew I needed to bust it out so that it could be done before Valentine’s Day. I have a few of these light green boards that were shelves in our fireplace (where I have a bucket of logs now). I rarely ever throw away wood because I can usually find a purpose for them. I also had these wood scraps from a previous project. I painted the board white and then sanded it down a little. I cut the wood strips to fit around the edges using a chop saw. And just nailed them on.
Then I used some chalkboard paint and painted the XOs.
For the heart garland, I used a heart shaped hole punch to make the hearts. And then a smaller hole punch to make holes to string the bakers twine. I used a large needle to string it.
