I still have a few tweaks I am doing in my master bedroom before I consider it done. I made this chicken wire frame especially for this wall. I wanted something with wood to help bring some color to the room that is mostly greys and whites. Wood always adds a warmth to a room. I have made chicken wire frames like this before and also made frames like this an inserted photos check out that tutorial here

  1. I cut my strips of reclaimed wood

2. I  used corner brackets on the front AND back to secure the pieces of wood together. Since the wood is old I wanted to make the brackets look a little older too. I used a technique that I often use when trying to make metal look old. Just put them in a vinegar bath and let them sit for a few hours. The longer they sit the more rusted they get. If you take them out and they don’t seem rusted, know they will rust more as they sit out of the vinegar. 3. I used a staple gun to staple the chicken wire to the back of the frame and that’s it! I just picked up some chicken wire from a hardware store. I added a waxed boxwood wreath from Target. It was a quick project that is just perfect for that space.
