Holiday Ice Cream Scoops

These little ice cream scoops are one of my favorite holiday treats! By the time dessert comes around, people are usually stuffed anyway, so these little bites are a great alternative to a normal dessert. To make them, just scoop out some ice cream and form it in to a ball. You could use a melon scooper, tablespoon or small cookie scooper. The ice cream is cold and melts, so you have to work fast.

Then stick a little spoon in the ice cream ball (I got my spoons here). Put the ice cream scoops on wax paper and put them in the freezer. When the ice cream is firm again, roll them in the toppings. I used sprinkles, crushed candy canes and hot cocoa mix. Keep them in the freezer on wax paper until ready to serve. And that’s it! I love having desserts that are made ahead of time. You could also have a little ice cream scoop toppings bar. Just make the scoops ahead of time and then have all the toppings in little bowls and let your guests roll the scoops in to their desired topping.
