When I was at Magnolia Silos in Waco, I bought this metal “gather” sign. I love the metal lettering and wanted to make a wall art that I could hang in my dining room because when I think of “gathering” I think about a dining room. By making my own wall art I can choose the size and colors. This was a pretty quick project and mostly free (if you count finding things lying around in your house as free haha). In that case, all of this was free because all the materials were just lying around in my house or garage 🙂
M A T E R I A L S:
-Plywood or piece of scrap wood (I used some spakling on mine because the plywood was in rough shape, let that dry and then sanded it down)
-2 inch pine boards or again, some scrap wood for the frame
-paint
-stain
-wood glue
-finish nail gun (or just some thin nails)
-letters (I used metal letters from Magnoila but you could also do this with wooden letters found at just about any craft store).
-plastic wreath and ribbon (optional)
I hung a screw and sinker in the wall and then just set the wood sign on that. Since there was a little overhang of the frame in the back, it just sits right on the screw. See not too bad right!? 🙂
