A few months ago I had the idea to create a headboard with a lamp, outlet and shelf built in. I also love using reclaimed wood because it’s unique and fun to work with. It wasn’t a super intense project-up until adding the outlet and lamp, that’s when I had to pass the baton to my husband.

The first thing I did was create a frame with 2×4’s like this:

I then used a nail gun to attach all of the reclaimed wood. I cut out a hole for the outlet. My husband added the light and outlet right in to the headboard.

This is what it looks like from the back. The cords from the outlet and lamps go right to a wall outlet.

I attached these little shelves with scrap wood.

I love how it turned out, the only problem is I like it more than MY headboard now haha!
